Joanna Wang 68237d3317 Update CMDgitmodules to set `gclient-recursedeps` in .gitmodules file.
Note there's not presubmit checking that this stays in sync, but I think recursdeps is not updated often enough that it's a high priority. We will also need to run `gclient gitmodules` for all repos we care about to update the .gitmodules file after this lands.

Robert Iannucci 126b52e8e5 [scm.py] Fix error with missing_ok in GitConfig.
Previously there was an error where you could have:

  global: {"key": ["something"]}
  local: {}

And called SetConfig("key", None, missing_ok=False) - this would end
up raising CalledProcessError(returncode=5) because the caching
layer would see that "key" was not missing, then call into the
storage layer which would do `git config --local ...` which was
missing "key" (and therefore fail).

Stephanie Kim 2c9e581fad Allow multiple objects per GCS dep
Allows multiple objects to use the same directory path.
This requires that each object has its own unique hash file and
unique migration file name. All object names must be unique.

Also update download_from_google_storage to check for the unique
migration file name.

Remove ConvertToGcs smoke tests since we're not converting
any git <-> gcs deps.

Example:
```
'src/third_party/llvm-build/Release+Asserts': {
  'dep_type': 'gcs',
Stephanie Kim 63ae5028c1 Reland "Reland "Add support for GCS deps""
This is a reland of commit 46d5382f69
Whats fixed: Removed the call_google_storage refactor so
that all `import download_from_google_storage` callsites
(in depot_tools and chromium/src) won't be affected.
Instead, gclient.py will import Gsutil from download_from_google_storage.
Josip Sokcevic a309d29905 Remove .git suffix from git submodules
.git suffix is not well supported by the systems that utilize
submodules. Since some tools expect DEPS to have .git suffix, it's not
possible to simply update DEPS without breaking the tools.
This patch updates `gclient gitmodules` to omit .git suffix and trailing
slashes. However, if `.gitmodule` already exists, we are expecting the
tool to generate the same result if DEPS didn't change.
Dan Le Febvre 456d085e75 Adding batch CIPD version resolution to gclient.
At the moment on repo's with many CIPD packages the number
of CLI calls to 'cipd describe' can make it very slow.
This mechanism will call cipd ensure-file-resolve with the entire
list in one call then reference items from the list before trying
individual cipd describe commands.
Running gclient_smoketests times out on windows when using git daemon,
so use a local directory as remote instead.
Marc-Antoine Ruel 8e57b4bc55 python3 improvements
Ran:
  vi $(git grep --name-only iteritems | grep -v third_party)
  vi $(git grep --name-only itervalues | grep -v third_party)
  vi $(git grep --name-only 'print ' | grep -v third_party)
and edited the files quickly with adhoc macros. Then ran in recipes/:
  ./recipes.py test train
There was only a small subset of files that had been updated to use
six.iteritems() and six.itervalues(). Since the dataset size that is
being used in gclient is small (pretty much always below 200 items),
it's better to just switch to .items() right away and take the temporary
performance hit, so that we don't need to come back to rewrite the code.
Raul Tambre 7d1300b89a fake_repos: Fix use of NamedTemporaryFile on Windows
Python doesn't guarantee that the file created by tempfile.NamedTemporaryFile can be opened by multiple programs at once.
This is the case on Windows, so we need to close the temporary PID file and only then pass it to Git.
Raul Tambre cd862e37ea gclient_scm: Decode Git output centrally for better Python 3 support
This avoids the need to do the decoding everywhere separately.
Also a small fix for filter() no longer returning a list on Py3.
The scripts still work with Python 2.
There are no intended behaviour changes.
Ran "2to3 -w -n -f print ./" and manually added imports.
Ran "^\s*print " and "\s+print " to find batch/shell scripts, comments and the like with embedded code, and updated them manually.
Also manually added imports to files, which used print as a function, but were missing the import.
The scripts still work with Python 2.
There are no intended behaviour changes.
Raphael Kubo da Costa b45f6428f8 fake_repos: Create a new socket for every connection attempt while waiting for a port
connect(2) says stream sockets may only succeed to connect once. This means
if the call to sock.connect() fails it will continue failing for the
entirety of the wait loop, and we will fail to wait for a port to bind even
when it eventually becomes available.
Make sure we create a new socket every time we are about to try to connect
to it.
